Magic Canyon Ranch Bed & Breakfast
Homer's Oldest Continuously Operating Bed and Breakfast
Since 1984
Magic
Canyon Ranch is a secluded B & B located
five miles from Homer, Alaska in an enchanted canyon bursting
with birdsong and wildflowers and overlooking beautiful Kachemak
Bay and the glacier-filled Kenai Mountains. A long, narrow drive
under enfolding alders along Waterman Creek delivers you to the
private canyon, which opens to an absolutely breathtaking view in
a classic Alaskan wilderness setting. The colorful garden is in
full bloom all summer and a little meditation pond awaits you. All
this is only minutes from Homer. Your hosts are Davis and Betsy
Webb, long time residents of Alaska. Four guest rooms are available
for your enjoyment in the bed and breakfast. FREE WIFI.
You
are invited to hike the 75-acre ranch property, an old homestead.
Photo opportunities abound on leisurely nature walks around the
canyon rim. Visit our llamas or just relax on the sundeck and enjoy
the million-dollar views, watch resident moose browsing, and bald
eagles soaring overhead, or browse the Alaskana library. Look in
on Lizzy, our 1915 Model T parked in the barn. Set up the Celestron
telescope for wildlife watching or telephotography.
In
our country kitchen, guests share hearty farm-fresh breakfasts
of homegrown eggs, favorite recipes and homemade breads, granolas
and preserves. Magic Canyon recipes are renowned and featured in
several cookbooks. In homestead tradition, the aroma of fresh-ground
Irish Cream coffee awakens you and sourdough from the oven warms
you. A breakfast bar awaits early-rising fishermen.
